The naysayers that thought blockchain technology and cryptocurrency would be a passing fad got this one wrong—they’re here to stay. In 2019, blockchain tech is pervasive and widely adopted within many industries. Last year, the Forbes Global 2000 list of the largest public companies revealed that not only are all ten of the largest in the world exploring blockchain, but at least 50 of the biggest names on the list have all made their own mark on the technology first inspired by Bitcoin. We’re talking huge global organizations like American Express, Oracle, Facebook, Prudential, Walt Disney, MetLife, and Alibaba.
If you’re interested in working with blockchain technology or cryptocurrency, you’re in luck—there are a ton of remote work jobs and gigs available. Many of the companies in this space are global, so it’s a solid match with being a digital nomad. Whether you’d like to start a new career in this budding field, already have blockchain-based skills and want to join an exciting project, or simply want to earn some extra income on the side—you have options.
We’ve mapped out a bunch of online resources to help you land that job or gig. Here are 14 active websites where you can find blockchain and crypto work now.
Crypto.jobs
CryptoJobs claims to be the #1 website for blockchain jobs. As I type, 1,527 jobs are available on the site, posted from global blockchain organizations. You’ll find a variety of positions from customer support, content creation/copywriting, design, marketing, and more. The majority are remote, and as a freelancer, you might even be able to lock down multiple gigs through the site.
LinkedIn has a wealth of blockchain and cryptocurrency jobs—everything from full-stack engineers to product managers to communications manager and everything in between. And, hundreds of new opportunities get posted every day (as of right now, 189 blockchain jobs have been posted in the last 24 hours). One unfortunate shortcoming is that you can’t necessarily choose to only view remote positions. You’ll have to click in on the listings that sound interesting to dig a little deeper and see if remote work is a possibility.
Angel.co
Angel.co is a popular startup community, as well as a job board. They curate top blockchain and cryptocurrency opportunities for developers, designers, marketing managers, and even co-founders. A nice perk is that you can view average salaries and equity benefits for each position. You’ll notice that many are in-house, but there are some remote jobs.
Bitcoin.com
Bitcoin.com is a company that hosts a Bitcoin-related web portal and provides services for purchasing and selling cryptocurrencies, and a mobile wallet. They also seem to be growing and consistently post new job opportunities on their website. At the moment they have openings for a financial analyst, Android developer, staff account and a few other positions. The listings don’t specify whether or not you can work remote, but it’s worth a shot to find out.
Blockew
Blockew is a job board with a different approach. Instead of searching for a position, you can post your resume to be considered without actually applying to a particular job. That’s because many employers use their resume database as a way to find and contact candidates for positions that aren’t yet advertised. That said, you can also go the proactive route and browse job listings and send your resume direct, instead of waiting to get scouted. Not all of the opportunities offer remote work, but you’ll find some promising opportunities from the likes of Coinbase, Robinhood and Chainlink.
Crypto Jobs List
CryptoJobsList has 1,045+ open blockchain, cryptocurrency and Bitcoin jobs at the moment. Most common titles include blockchain developers, software engineers, and technical leads but you’ll also find marketing, community management, and brand ambassador gigs. Go directly to the Remote section to start looking for remote jobs.
Blockace.io
BlockAce is another great job board for finding blockchain jobs. Browse or search by keyword, and make sure you click the “Remote Only” button to ensure you soley view remote opportunities. You’ll end up seeing prominent companies with listings, such as Ripple, IBM and Kraken.
CryptoRecruit
CryptoRecruit is a recruitment agency specializing in recruiting exclusively within the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. The site features a comprehensive listing of openings by classification—software developers, IT infrastructure, social media, customer service and more. To view only remote jobs, make sure you open the Location dropdown and choose Remote.
Blocktribe
Blocktribe is a job board with a smaller offering than the ones above—339 blockchain jobs are listed as of today. Even so, it’s still beneficial to give it a look as you can discover plenty of remote, full-time and part-time gigs on the platform.
Blockchain Job Board
This Blockchain Job Board has an ultra-simple UI, but has a decent amount of job listings. Narrow your search by keywords, job titles, location and more. The lion share of the listings are for developers, architects, and engineers, but you can find others as well. Similar to LinkedIn, you’ll have to click on listings to learn more and see if remote work is offered.
Blockchain Dev Jobs
As the name implies, this site focuses completely on blockchain developers and engineers in a wide array of business niches. You’ll find a plethora of jobs for Node.js engineers, Python developers, DevOps engineers, QA testers and so on. Candidates can review open positions or sign up for job alerts related to their skill areas. The positions listed on Blockchain Dev are usually recent—and span from full and part-time, as well as contract gigs. Look for the (allows remote) tag on the listing to make sure it is a remote work opportunity.
Cryptocurrency Jobs
Are you a frontend, backend, or full-stack developer? There is an abundance of job opportunities for you on this website. Search by category and job type, as well as sign up for job alerts in your niche. Positions are listed by company, location, or as remote and number of days of posting listed. If you’d like to only see remote full and part-time positions, click the location dropdown menu and select Remote.
Crypto-Careers
Crypto Careers hosts a decent array of blockchain positions. Well-known companies are featured here—like Binance and Storj—and you can choose to only view remote job openings. You won’t find as many listings here as some of the other sites we’ve mentioned, but again, it’s worth checking out if you’re on the job/gig hunt.
DCG
Digital Currency Group builds and supports Bitcoin and blockchain companies. They also have a job board with quite a few openings. Right now 117 companies have posted on the board and there are 884 jobs up for grabs. Here’s a link to view the remote job opportunities.
There you go—14 job boards for job and gig seekers in the blockchain and crypto space—everything from startups to established enterprises. There are thousands of positions available for remote workers, and more popping up every day. And if you’d like to see even more opportunities, don’t forget to check out these 20 active Facebook Groups that post jobs every day—sometimes you’ll find blockchain and crypto ones there. Good luck!
